"There seems to be two kinds of searchers: those who seek to
make their ego something other than it is, i.e. holy, happy,
unselfish (as though you could make a fish unfish), and those
who understand that all such attempts are just gesticulation
and play-acting, and there is only one thing that can be done,
which is to disidentify themselves with ego, by realising
its unreality, and by becoming aware of their eternal identity
with pure being."

dear voice hearer,

you speak of disidentifying from your ego when you can't even disidentify yourself from the roof of your house?

*rolling eyes*

i would really, really love to see this wonderful undying friendship of yours put to even the littlest real test.

hope i'm not breaking the civility protocol of your undying loving kindness by calling bullshit when i see it.

i'll paste from wei wu wei for you, dude, because your chemically induced bliss has taken you so far away from home that i at times feel like crying thinking that folk can sit for so long, yet remain so trashed in their monster spiritual ego/witness whatevah...

love: antidote

writers on metaphysix, even some metaphysicists, sometimes talk about love. this, surely, is great nonsense. where is there love? i speak of love as we know it and mean it. as the mosquito loves us? yes, only like that. and as i love cake.

where there is not jealous desire for possession, there is just plain dislike.

tigers do not love wolves, nor slugs snails. mice do not love cats, not worms birds.

sentimental people may think they give out universal love, but the very plants they dote on dread their touch (see chunder bose's experiments).

there is no place for love in the phenomenal world of nature except as an incentive to reproduction (to perpetuate production of mind-cages, psycho-somatic contraption that can temporarily delude minds into holding onto the I-concept, the source of all suffering) and for protection of the young.

love exists, yes indeed, but in normal manifestation if finds expression in its counterpart of hate.

this should not be interpreted as sneer at good intentions, but rather as a kick in the pants for self-deception.

what these kindly people are yearning to give is not love at all, but a chemically pure emotion of which love is a polluted derivation. the basic urge they have is infinitely purer than any manifestation of love.

pure affectivity is finding access to their consciousness and is seeking expression. if, instead of inducing a state of psychic cirrhosis in any imaginary ego, they were able to understand this, their affectivity should manifest as compassion or as impersonal benediction and this radiation would render service to all forms of life in their vicinity.

love is an egocentric manifestation: the essential oneness of all life has no room for love.

disagree with longchenpa at least:

"though attachment, aversion, dullness, pride, and envy may arise, fully understand their inner energy; recognize them in the very first moment, before karma has been accumulated.

in the second moment look nakedly at this state and relax in its present. then whichever of the five passions [lust, anger, stupidity, arrogance, and jealousy] arise becomes a pure presence, freed in its own place, without being eliminated.

it emerges as the pristine awareness that is pure, pleasurable, and not conditioned by thought."

is your roof leaking?

are you hungry?

next time i ask you a direct question, i beg you, try to answer IT directly AND literally.

or i'll lump you in along with the wie.org crowd and tell everyone you're as good as tolle's webcasts on oprah.

i don't know anyone, so fret not!

There's no rain for the roof to leak.

Sometimes there's hunger; sometimes there's not.

Direct and literal enough?

LOVE to you, z0tl! Or are you Andrew Cohen in disguise? LOVE to him, too!

Looks like maybe I'll have to post a new something one of these days, just so we can have these exciting back-and-forths and not have to scroll down so far to leave 'em.
Hope you're having a fine summer.
