"Of the many earnest, and how earnest, people we may observe reading, attending lectures, studying and practicing disciplines, devoting their energies to the attainment of a liberation which is by definition unattainable, how many are not striving via the ego-concept which is itself the only barrier between what they think they are and that which they wish to become but always have been and always will be?" well danji, what have you been up to?
Just cruisin' with Kathleen...
you wanna do rohatsu nov 30 - dec 8 @ mountain gate in ojo sarco? but only if you don't slouch like teh friggin tibetan:z!
love won't set you free, nor will sitting, might as well do both while passing through herenow.
also, i want you to drop ALL BULLSHIT for a minute and tell me in your OWN w0rds what you think "COMING AND GOING FREELY" means.
alternatively, you can tell me how to differentiate between host and guest.
Nah, z0tl, I don't think I want to do a Rohatsu right now, 'cause I got my slouching posture from Vipassana on thru the Tibetans, and so got whacked too much with the stick when it came to Zen.
But I hear you about doing something while passing thru, and that's as good as any other something.
As for "coming and going freely", thinking what it means and knowing what it means may be two separate things. But, bullshit aside, it means drop the doubt and let it be.
no. what you're describing is GOING FREELY. which means you're still THINKING ABOUT IT.
back to slouching 4U! & no soup!
sez you, Zen Nazi! No enlightenment for you!
But just to clarify, there is no coming or going, freely or otherwise. Recognizing that is coming and going freely...
yes, because any opaquely endarkened z?tl could give a flyin' tofu re: enlighternment talk. homew0rk: c where your light goes if darknesses don't get out of Teh Way, but i digress...
it's AS IF i give a flyin' tofu re: zen.
just coz i use a breathing tool (sussok'kan) available to this vehicle for the moment don't mean i condone boolshyat like: "in coming and going we never leave home!"
continue being a cow, when them "persons" of no rank come and go freely & experience your deluded world, feel honored, i guess.
at least you have a worthy imagination.
Huh?
i have no idea, must've been z8tl who said that shi7 after 1 2 many.
in other news, you remain one of those ooo and aaahers over satsangers like gangaji.
NO experiential knowledge of seeing through the seer who comes in and out of your face. original or otherwise.
Wishing you happiness, love, peace and joy during this Christmas Season. Love! Don
Danny: Wishing you bright stars, sweet dreams, deep laughter, peace in the middle of a snowstorm, and warm sunny mornings sittin' in the sun. Happy New Year! Love! Don
Big Dittos, Don!
wishing you nothing! happy old year.
Why, thank you, z0tl!
Ditto!
Ike and Tina Iannone say hello to Sonny and Cher Shimp. Hey! You ever gonna post something here? If not, turn this blog over to Wes Montgomery Hord.
Dear Ike,
Who knows?
Love,
Sonny
P.S. I think Wes has too many gigs, and besides, his laptop hasn't been octavated yet.
wes is more, i think i have that album...

in terms of the sonny part, don't go skiing then. sky diving tho, i ok!

How 'bout skinnydipping?
And then there's Movin' Wes. But you'd have to go to Hawaii for that. Or maybe Catalina....
Guess when we wake up, there's only this mundane stuff to talk about. Think the Wakin' Up album was one of Wes' best --is 'Gone With The Wind' on that one? Maybe 'Says You', too....
breakfast in bed?
or is that too mundane after waking up as well?
Sounds good to me, z0tl. I'll try not to get green chile on the sheets...
Thank you for bringing back to me Roland Kirk and his Bright Moments, Dan. Seeing him perform for the first time in my life, I think his was one of the ways of selflessly going beyond one's immense ego...!?:)
I think you're right, Borut. Recently, a friend of mine, the ex-wife of a jazz musician who you would no doubt recognize but who will remain unnamed, told me this in an email:
"THEN THE CREMATION A COUPLE DAYS AFTER THAT, FOUR HOURS TO REFLECT
AND BOND AND DISSOLVE. I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT THESE BRIGHT, BRIGHT
MOMENTS IN GREATER DETAIL SOMEDAY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED."
She was always fond of using Rahsaan's little saying, but this one really takes it somewhat further than the mundane. Into the clear light went FM, perhaps to see RK. And, it just occurs to me that she shares Captain Kirk's initials.
And, it also occurs to me that the mundane is none other than the divine.
So, Bright, Bright moments to You and to Everyone!
And there are other YouTube Moments with Roland Kirk besides the one with Eric Clapton and company. Lucky us!
The whole live album called Bright Moments, Dan… I had it, years ago…
I've just posted the link with Rahsaan's music on my local blog… I hope my Slovenian friends will enjoy it as much as I did… It's a way of sharing good vibrations and positive energies… Thinking of it, I would love to include a tiny portion of Roland Kirk's love for life that I find in his music also in my haiku … I think this is why you brought him back to me…!?:) Sometimes, my being is just too dark… I often need to be reminded of the bright side of life …!:)
I've just written a rather somber Slovenian haiku medley, as I call them, about death… I've been thinking of appending a comment including the ideas of Native America seers on death (found in Carlos Castaneda's books)… I remember reading another disciple of Don Juan, Castaneda's mentor, who says that the great Indian elder died as late as 1994 in Arizona, and was cremated, in spite of this being prohibited by US legislation, in the traditional way there… Reading your comment, I remember the concepts such as the 'fire from within', the ‘fusing (of the energy body/soul) with the Eagles' Emanations’ etc. As I see it right now, the mundane is the smoky aspect of eternal fire or light created by our ignorance… We are light, and to light we will return… As Don Juan used to say: Dying is a monumental affair… It's not just kicking your feet…
It's a bright moment – for those who see…
So, let us see!:)
exactly-
...this is it, right here, right now.
I'm copying this to my blog :)
OK!
