Yes. Awareness in this context is the One Reality that is without a second, and which subsumes individual consciousness arising from sensory input (including the mind). It's the Awareness that is our True Identity. Nothing could observe Awareness, as it is One without a second, except for the provisional illusory consciousness that it observes...
Hi Dan, did you manage to read Salinger's "Hapworth"? The critical reviews of this story that I found on the net - I thought those were entirely inappropriate. That was NOT a dark work, but a funny and cheerful one. Best, rama

Yes... pure awareness is beyond observation... and yet has found a way to observe itself through it's creations... of "conciousness"....
