We're speaking here of the Unconditioned, which is not a thing. Of course, 'prior to' is only a concept pointing, not to some'thing'in time and space, but to that Unconditioned, or Suchness, or whatever label you care to apply, that is (again a concept) 'beyond' the Samsara that these unfathomable questions seek an answer in. We're pointing at the wisdom, the cognizing emptiness, that is never absent, is always here and now, but appears to arise when Manjusri's sword (i.e. our own clear seeing) slices through the tangled knot of vyoupoints, so that we see that no one is managing anything, and yes the Buddha loves me, and is not other than who I truly am...

Dan says: "Well...?"
Don adds: "I am."
What is prior to 'I am'?
Only that which comes prior, and again "I am."
What is prior to even the concept of prior?
